BEYOND THE FADE

Beyond the Fade is a community-led initiative in collaboration with Capella Chaplaincy designed specifically for Black barbers and barbershop owners in Birmingham. Recognising the vital role barbershops play as cultural and social hubs within the Black community, this programme creates a safe, supportive space for barbers to come together and openly discuss their mental health needs.

Through a series of facilitated Peer Mentoring Group, Training Sessions and resources, Beyond the Fade is not just about mental health t’s about community healing, resilience, and redefining care in a space that has always been more than just a place for a haircut. 

Peer Mentoring sessions will begin in Sept 2026 

Mental Health Training in Jan 2027
